In optimising post-procedure care to enhance cosmetic outcomes and minimise undesired effects, it is important to adhere to specific guidelines following treatment.
For BOTOX®️ procedures, the following recommendations are advised:
1. Avoid applying pressure or massaging the treated areas immediately after the procedure to prevent dispersal of BOTOX®️ into unintended areas.
2. Refrain from lying down or bending over for 4 hours post-treatment, as this may lead to undesirable dispersion of BOTOX®️.
3. Avoid in strenuous exercise and yoga after the procedure, as elevated blood pressure and pulse may exacerbate bruising and swelling.
4. Application of makeup post-procedure is permissible.
5. Cold compresses may be applied to treatment sites to mitigate swelling and bruising.
6. Consider the application of a Vitamin K cream to address any bruising that may occur.
7. Note that any temporary bumps or marks from needle sticks will typically resolve within an hour. Bruising, if it occurs, will follow a similar resolution pattern to other bruises. Mild pain, swelling, itching, or redness at the injection site may occur, with redness subsiding within 1-2 days, occasionally lasting longer.
8. Full effects of the treatment may take up to 14 days to manifest, although many individuals may notice benefits within 3-5 days post-treatment.
9. BOTOX®️ is a temporary procedure. Some wrinkles may begin to reappear after 2-3 months, but the effectiveness of BOTOX®️ tends to increase with successive treatments.
